Electricity utility companies
Electricity utility companies have an established commercial arrangement with their customers in their service area. In the recent years, they have begun installing fiber cable to the homes and initiating Internet, TV and other services on this infrastructure.
With the advent of liberalization of the electricity market, they face two issues: they need to market their services and they need to compensate for the loss of margin on the electricity prices. At the same time, they seek to fill their installed fiber infrastructure with services to the end users so they can recoup their investment.
TV PLUS value proposition:

Cable TV providers
Many of the Cable TV providers, especially smaller regional ones, are operating systems based on older technologies which are frequently incapable of supporting new features, e.g. Replay. Changing the TV channel lineup is a costly exercise as all TVs need to be retuned. Traditionally, they can only provide their TV services to homes in which they have installed their own cable access, limiting their reach.
These operators are facing a costly decision to upgrade or replace their installed infrastructure in order to provide new features such as replay, cloud recording, access to VOD services, etc.TV PLUS has a very unique selling point for this market. Most competitors buy their TV boxes from 3rd parties and have no real influence on their features. Because we develop our own TV Box, we are able to very quickly implement special features or customer wishes – customer requests are not a nuisance, but a core strength of our system.
A typical request by a cable provider is to add their own local or regional TV channels to the channel lineup. This is a feature that we already made easily available for the TV PLUS box.Unlike their traditional cable service, our OTT-based service does not rely on the installed infrastructure. We can help the cable provider to extend its reach outside of their installed network infrastructure footprint.Finally, most cable operators wish to continue selling the service under their branding. We provide branding for the software, the TV box, the remote control, the packaging and the manuals, which most our competitors simply do not offer.

Hospitals, homes for the elderly
Hospitals and especially homes for the elderly frequently operate on a limited budget. Their clients sometimes change on a daily basis and sometimes stay for long periods of time. In both cases, a nice, easy to use and easy to learn TV service is essential. These operators are suffering from monopolistic behavior of the large telecoms – they have to order expensive bundles if they want to offer Internet and TV for their tenants. Also essential is cost effective operation.
We offer these customers a rental arrangement. Using the same technology like for the cable TV providers, we can offer customers to add their own local channels, frequently requested by the hotels. The operator is the subscriber for multiple accounts, and they charge the tenants for the TV service together with the rent. When the tenant changes, there is zero administrative cost. The pricing is very favorable because the operator can deploy 5 TV boxes per account – e.g. in a shared facility. We do not charge for the TV box – we rent it to the operator because these arrangements are long-term, and the cost of the TV box is amortized over a period of e.g. one year. We control the availability of recording and Hollystar VOD on a box-by-box basis, thus avoiding any issues with frequently changing tenants.

Business apartment operators and shared apartments face administrative cost each time a tenant cancels the rental and a new one comes in. Especially with expats and shared apartments, tenants change frequently. While the competition does sometimes offer multiple TV boxes per account, they can be expensive and often they require changing the tenants name on the account.

Internet Service Providers main revenue comes from selling Internet services. The margins are increasingly under pressure since there are many competitors who can only compete on the price of the packages and the underlying cost base is tightly controlled by Swisscom, who is the infrastructure partner in almost all cases. Monthly billing
We bill our partner once per month instead billing the end-user. Partners keep their direct relationship with the end-user.
Automated provisioning
Partners/customers can basically provision the services by themselves using the TV PLUS portal.
Hospitality features
Especially for hospitality we offer disabling Recordings and Hollystar VOD so that end-users can not leave behind personal recordings or traces of watched movies. This is especially interesting where end-users change frequently (hotels) or there are more users in one space (elderly homes, shared apartments).
5 TV Boxes per account
Up to 5 TV Boxes per user account are possible. For these cases, especially for situations with more users in one space, we offer assignable Bluetooth remote controls. This enables multiple TV boxes to be used in the same room without interference.
